The Digital Library of Historical Directories produced by the University of Leicester in England is a digital library of eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth century local and trade directories (phone books before there were phones) from England and Wales. Directories of counties and towns are important sources for local and genealogical studies. They include lists of names, addresses and occupations, and successive editions reflect changes over time.
